Helmikuu on yksi lempikuukausistani. Lunta on yleensä yllinkyllin ja kylmiä, kirkkaan aurinkoisia talvipäiviä ulkona nautittavaksi vaikka joka päivä.
February is one of my favourite months. There is usually plenty of snow, and cold, brightly sunny winter days to enjoy outdoors every single day.
Mahnalanselkä, Mahnala, Hämeenkyrö, Finland. -19°C / -2°F.
Rautavesi, Vammala, Sastamala, Finland. -19°C / -2°F.
Tallipiha, Tampere, Finland. – 6°C / 21°F.
Vaaralliset, kauniit jääpuikot.
Impressive icicles start to form hanging from rooftops around February in southern parts of the country. They require some amount of moist on the rooftops – we’ve had plenty of that with the record-breaking snow depths lately – and warmer weather, usually accompanied by a lovely sunny day. There are warning signs for the ice falling down, and there are always cases of injuries or at the worst, deaths because of these nature’s beauties.
Tammerkoski, Tampere, Finland. -16°C / 3°F.
Vaikka kylmää onkin, ei Tammerkoski koskaan jäädy kokonaan. Sen virtapaikat pitävät pinnan sulana, ja koskessa elääkin talvella runsas lintupopulaatio.
Although it does get cold, the Tammerkoski rapids never freeze all over. The currents keep the surface clear of ice, and the river does house a large population of birds in wintertime.
Pispalanharju, Tampere, Finland. -20°C / -4°F.
